Dropdown with -- None --

I have a dropdown with choices, and have configured it for Dropdown with --None--. I want to make it mandatory to select a choice, but not have --None-- considered as a choice. However, the dropdown is showing a choice and not --None--.

Hello,

And just to clarify, you're going to a brand new record and don't see the "-- None -- " option by default in that field and instead, it's displaying a selection?

Or are you going to an already created record? Because if so, that default value would have been saved long ago.

Hi,

If you played around with the settings for this, for example where you went with dropdown without none and then switched it to dropdown with none, etc.

You may need to re-save those changes again and consider clearing your instance cache by typing: cache.do and pressing enter in left-hand navigation.

A lot of times with fields and their settings, etc. things can get a bit wonky if you change them around and whatnot.

Hi Allen,

Thanks. I just ran cache.do, and I'm still seeing the same thing.

Hello,

If the field was a dropdown without none before...you had to specify a default value.

Do you still have the default value defined and can now remove it?

I removed the default value when I added Dropdown with None.
