dynamic guided tour creation

Hi,
I am trying to create a guided tour for the OOTB survey widget. where all the surveys are listed and when the step on take_survey page gets triggered, the tour gets abandoned due to its unique instance id. Hence i tried to split the tour into 2. where the first tour starts from homepage and moves to id:my_surveys and then moves to 3rd step where the id:take_survey shows the "Get Started" button for a unique survey. post this, when i click on "Get Started", the page with the survey questions get opened. then the tour gets abandoned.

the 2nd tour starts from the survey questions page where i have also enabled auto launch. but still i am facing an error and it is not successful.

URL on the 2nd survey step 1 = {"url":"/esc?id=take_survey"}
this same URL is used on all 3 steps. 2 survey questions have one step on each pointed. 3rd step is pointed to the submit button.

Please help me with this if anyone has implemented it before.
to keep this simple, i am trying to guide users on how to take survey using guided tours. but which will work for all the surveys inspite of its unique instance id on the URL.

Thanks,

Hi,

The issue is likely the dynamic survey instance ID in the take_survey page. Splitting the tour into two tours is not necessarily required.

Try the following:

  1. Open the tour in Guided Tour Designer.
  2. Under Route Parameters, set isDynamic = true.
  3. Keep the tour context/URL generic rather than hard-coding the instance_id.
  4. Make sure the captured steps do not contain a specific instance_id or other survey-specific value.

isDynamic=true is intended for Guided Tours that need to work across different record/sys_ids, so the same tour can be used for different survey instances.

If the tour still gets abandoned after Get Started, check the URL generated for the survey and confirm that the tour is not tied to a specific survey instance_id. Avoid hard-coding that ID, since the requirement is for the tour to work with all survey instances.
