Edit Default Filter Istanbul

msjoy

On Incident table, I have Affected CIs on related list.

When I create and save default filter, the CIs I filtered out still shows up. It is not working.

I have followed this link http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=File:Filter_related_list_relationship_003.png#gsc.tab=0

My instance does not work as the link suggests.

I have configured form to get Edit default filter. However, the Edit default filter does not show up on the form.

My screen does not show as expected. Related list field does not populate

What steps did I miss?

I discovered where I was going wrong. This is how I solved it

While Affected CIs tab is Active, click header column of Configuration Item. Go to configure>List Control

find_real_file.png

I choose to have admin only for Filter Roles

I did sample filter conditions on public dev

find_real_file.png

Then back to Incident Table>Affected CIs>Edit, the filter will display.

Users can add their own but will not modify the default when Affected CIs   is reloaded

There is a UI Policy called 'List Control' that sets the edit_default_filter to visible false when the Related list field is empty.

If you right click on a related list column and configure list controls, it should populate the related list field and cause the default filter to show.

As you can see it shows below because the related list field is not empty.

I have the field displayed. however, Related list field did not populate field name. It is still empty.

I also get the message 'First Select the Table'

And the filter did not filter out.

In my case, when users click Affected CI>Edit, I want users to view CIs based on the default filter.

On which Table should my filter begin?
