Embedding Link in Incident Record

I'm in the process of creating repeat incidents to replace our daily service desk check list however some of the checks reference links to internal server resources and for that reason I would like to embed a clickable link to a UNC path in an incident record. Something along the lines \\servername\directory\file.file

Does anyone know if this is possible?

TIA

Hi Angus,

You can simply create URL type field on the incident form, it will be clickable.

Please mark answer as correct/helpful, if it was really helpful.

Try to see if you have "hidden" pop up blockers.

We encountered cases where toolbars added to the browser (such as Google toolbar) had their own pop up blocker active. If you have toolbars installed, check their settings.

I've tried it in IE and Chrome both of which open other attachments in service now such as those attached with the paperclip icon.

Thanks anyway.

If you right click on the link, select Copy Hyperlink, paste it in a new browser tab and press Enter - Does it open?

Yes it does, opens a new tab and then opens the file. I tried copying the URL which appeared in the browser into the incident and that didn't work either:-
