In GRC Policy and Compliance Module, on Control form, there is a checkbox of Exempt.

What is the meaning of this exempt checkbox? how does the control behave differently if this checkbox is checked.

?

Hi,

if the flag Exempt is checked in the control, the Policy Exception Overview dashboard will also shows exempted controls.

Refer to the following official documentation:

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/madrid-governance-risk-compliance/page/use/dashboards/application...

What is the business meaning of Exempt box... how should business use this box vs Policy Exception or issue..

The business should check the Exempt box in case the Policy Exception itself won't require any Control.

In this way, the business will be able to see the difference in the GRC Policy Exception Overview dashboard, so which policy exception will need any controls and which not.

Hope this clarify your doubt.

There seems to be a lack of documentation regarding both the Exempt and Partially Exempt fields on a Control form.

I would advise for anyone with the same question to upvote this post and provide negative feedback on the related docs.

This was all I could find in regards to the actual logic responsible for populating (one of) these read-only fields.

You should also be able to find some more answers in the PolicyExceptionBase Script Include.
