Hi,
I'm new to this community so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post feature requests. If not please point me in the right direction.
The feature I'm looking for is the kind of unread notifications that google+, facebook and even this support forum features.
Like so many people I'm swamped by email and the huge amount of emails Service Now sends by default only makes matters worse. Having a notification counter like this would greatly improve this IMHO. It would avoid round trips to some mailbox since everything would be in one UI. And it avoids having to go back and clean up the notifications after a task has been read/completed/whatever.
Regards
Bram

Check out Eureka, has some very cool features for this kind of thing already:
Visual Task Boards - ServiceNow Wiki
plus there's already Live Feed
and there's also the Tagged docs in Eureka
Creating and Using Tags - ServiceNow Wiki
And the activity stream:

Some of these look promising but it's not clear (at least not from the quick look I gave these) whether these can really help to replace email notifications.
What I'm looking for is a counter that increments for every update to any ticket/task I created/worked on or that I'm watching. And this would then expand into a list of notifications that link to the relevant tickets/tasks/etc.
Especially the visual task boards looks promising in delegating/planning but I'm not sure it helps in keeping track of all the records in Servicenow you need to keep track of.
But I'll try to convince our Servicenow responsible to plan this upgrade.

In the mean time we have completed our upgrade to Eureka and I have received access to a test/demo instance that has livefeed enabled.
I have only played around with it for a short while but neither live feed nor the activity stream seem to offer what I'm looking for.
It seems that you have to opt in to each individual record for livefeed. So it does not replace the type of notification that is currently handled by default by email notifications.
As suggested in Facebook style (on screen) notifications the idea is to disable the email notifications completely and to receive all of the possible updates in the web interface.
So as far as I can tell no such functionality is available. Where can I open an official feature request?

If you haven't done this yet, you can open Enhancement Requests via HI (HI Customer Support Login).
Click on the Service Catalog, then under Request Items, click Create New Enhancement Request.
