Field is not visible in form for few users

'Sub category' a custom field on the form view in hardware table is not visible to users who don't have 'y' role, even in list view although the 'sub category' has a value in it, it is showing blank for users who don't have 'y' role. i have checked ACLs, client scripts, ui policies, can someone help me in finding where it could be configured?

Double-check the ACLs specifically for the ‘sub category’ field on the hardware table. It’s possible to have an ACL that specifically targets a field rather than an entire record. Ensure there isn’t an ACL explicitly hiding or making this field read-only for users without the ‘y’ role.

There could be a Data Policy or Client Script that is responsible for what you see.
