'Follow' button code

We are attempting to create a new 'Submit & Follow' UI action to be used on Incidents to allow users to do both things in one go instead saving and then pressing the button.

Adding to the watch list on insert is easy enough but they would also like the case added to the Connect Sidebar. Has anyone been able to work out what Script Include/API/Something else gets called to add something to the sidebar please?

I've looked at the 'Follow on Livefeed' button but unless I'm doing something wrong with this it doesn't do what we need.

Thank you.

We're looking to move the button farther to the right, but can't figure out where the UI Action is defined to even do that much.  Have you had any success so far?

Afternoon David.

I'm afraid to report I couldn't work out what it was calling and ended up scrapping the idea for the functionality. I was going to potentially crawl through the browser logs to see if I could find what API (or other) was being called to add something to the sidebar but had to move onto other things.

Sorry, which I could have been more help here.

Cool, thanks Joe!  I found a post somewhere from Chuck stating that the "Follow" button is actually built-into the core framework much like the paperclip button for attachments and thus can't be molested by us.  😞
