Trying to discover CISCO network devices using SNMP and facing the error > Active Couldnt Classify..

1. My creds are working.

2. Ports are Opened, (Mid server acl is added to network) , Discovery was working earlier.

3. OIDs are added already, but unable to receive sysObjectID in payload.

4. Discovery returns no error except > active couldnt classify.

I did so,  still i get the same response as given in screenshot above.

I have added time out and intervl to max number possible still no luck, Iam able to get the oid of name and description but not the ObjectID. I belive there an issue on the snmp configurtion by the network team !

What do you think @VivekSattanatha

Yes you need to ask the network team. SNMP uses UDP which is not reliable like TCP. Sometimes I have seen due to high CPU utilization on the switch causing interruption on other services like SNMP.

As stated @VivekSattanatha , mine switches have sysObjectID.

In this case you are good if you have ObjectID, You can add these in OIDs to  OID table and start classifying devices. In my case i dont get that ObjectID...

Hi @Sohail Khilji ,

Please try to run the SNMP walk from the midserver on particular IP SNMP walk application available on google easily, It will help to find out root cause behind that with the particular OID if any.

Also if CI is already created for that record, Please delete the same and try the discovery again on that device
