Homepage Search Bar showing only Catalog items

Hello,
I'm trying to find Knowledge articles on the portal's homepage search bar, but I'm not sure why it just shows catalog items no matter what we search for. I tried changing the Search sources, but the results remained the same, as shown in the images below. Can somebody tell me what the problem is and what I can do to get the knowledge articles to come up?

so i just experienced something very similar.
if you go into the portal, and "ctrl" + "right click" on the widget.
edit the Instance Options: you may see something like this
tthe "contextual_search_sources" is were we are limiting ours, you may need to remove this, or add in the knowledge sys_id

ok, so next thing, i took a closer look at your original images.
in the server script it say you are getting widget "un-typeahead-search"
that looks to be a custom widget.
"typeahead-search" is OOB.
so i'm guessing your issue will be within your custom widget where the limitation is.
we are in the process of our San Diego upgrade and i found a customized widget loading a customized widget for our typeahead search.
i have since reverted to the OOB and limited via the instance options.

Go to Service Portal> Portals, open the portal in which you have search issues.
Make sure you have added knowledge bases added in the related list. If its added then check the search sources. If its empty it will take the default search source.
But added Knowledge bases is mandatory to get KB articles in search results
