How do I add Visual Task Boards to my mobile app favorites screen?

Hi folks - apologies in advance if this is being posted in the wrong group - I'm brand new to the platform and have a billion questions.

I'm evaluating Visual Task Boards (VTB) on mobile devices and was wondering how to pin VTB on my ServiceNow mobile home screen as a favorite. It doesn't appear in the mobile navigator as an application. I'm using the native iPhone app.

Thanks!

Based on what I know about the native iOS app for iPhone, this is not currently possible. It's available on the iPad using the browser and may be available in the soon-to-be-released native iPad app. With a phone, it comes down to the experience of putting lanes, cards, etc. on such a small screen (even a 6S+.) If I hear anything to the contrary I'll be sure to update.

Actually it is possible - I saw a guy at the SN demo booth @ Knowledge16 whip up a quick workaround to get it working. The problem was I didn't take notes on how exactly he did it. 😞

If I remember correctly, he navigated to a master list of table objects in the system and copied the URL that pointed to the board, then used that URL to pin it to the ServiceNow mobile app. That's all I know unfortunately.

Alright! That's good news. I can figure that out...

Create your VTB then look under the info icon shown here. There's a URL down below.   Copy it.

Once there, go to the sys_ui_bookmark table and create a new entry. Copy the URL, but remove the https://yourinstance.service-now.com/ part. Make sure you get the right user!

Save the record and refresh your browser. Edit the favorite to give it a nice icon and color.

Test it on your mobile device. Mine was a little "rough" on things like horizontal scrolling, but it did seem to work for the most part. Not sure if this is truly supported, but hey... 🙂

Thanks for challenging me to pull all the facts together.
