How to add a new option to the "status" field or configuration items

i have a task where i need to add
- Change "Retired" to "Recycled"
- All assets currently listed as "Retired" can be changed to "Recycled"

however when i changed the retired to recycled it did not show up as an option to update all records to recycled. how do i add this status if i cant just change the options from one to another.

Do i need  to change the status of cmdb so it can change o all the assets or just alm_asset

Which classes is the CIs in which is stated as retired and not recycled?

I changed the alm_asset was changed to recycled and the config assets are still showing as retired
