In ServiceNow's Service Portal, you can customize the request summary by adding widgets to it. Here are the general steps to add a widget to the request summary in the Service Portal catalog:

  1. Navigate to the Service Portal Designer:

    • Go to the main ServiceNow menu.
    • Under "Self-Service," click on "Service Portal" and then select "Service Portal."
  2. Select the Appropriate Service Portal:

    • Identify the Service Portal you want to customize and select it.
  3. Open the Page for Request Summary:

    • Navigate to the "Pages" section in the left-hand navigation pane.
    • Look for the page associated with the request summary. The typical name might be "Service Catalog - Request Detail" or similar.
  4. Edit the Page:

    • Open the page for editing. You might need to use the pencil/edit icon or look for an "Edit" option.
  5. Add a Widget:

    • Once you're in the editor, find the area where you want to add the widget (e.g., the request summary section).
    • Click on the "+" or "Add Content" button to add a new widget.
    • In the widget picker, search for or select the widget you want to add. This could be a pre-built widget or a custom widget that you or your team have developed.
  6. Configure the Widget:

    • After adding the widget, configure its properties. This might include specifying data sources, setting options, and defining any other necessary parameters.
  7. Save and Publish:

    • Save your changes in the editor.
    • Once you are satisfied with your changes, publish the Service Portal to make your updates visible to end-users.
