How to alter the searching mechanism of search portal in knowledge base for partial words?(Utah)

How does one configure the searching method of the search bar of the knowledge base so that it throws in results for Utah version ?

For ex- If in the knowledge base I search for "incident" I will get results but if search "inci" or "inc" or any partial variation of the word (minimum requirement for search in kb is 3 characters) I do not get any result.

Expected behaviour is that on searching like this ,search bar should throw up results for words that start with "inc"/"inci"/partial variation.

 

How to configure the knowledge base search bar so that we get results for partial words as well?

I would recommend against modifying the search method on the search bar for the knowledgebase. I read this thread which you may find helpful on the search indexing on the KB search bar, linking to this product document.

 

Rather than modifying this search functionality, I would attempt to make it clear to your user base on the methodology of making better search queries when looking for knowledge base articles.
