How to auto populate An operator variable(variable set) with value of referenced catalog item var?

Hi Im trying to auto populate a operator variable by the value of a catalog item value reference type but it works only onchange and not onload when the sctask is opened can someone help?

It is expected behavior if auto-populate only works at the onchange event.
