Hi All,

Is it possible to change the UI action button to dropdown menu in UI 16 screen and Agent workspace?

The 'Following' button contains a menu items and include the 'Unfollow' ,'Open Connect Mini','Open Connect Full'.

Can we change the button 'Make High priority' and 'Make Critical priority' in the same style as menu items?Becasue there are too many buttons in the toolbar will negatively impact the user experience.

Can anybody give me some suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My simplest suggestion would be to set the UI Actions as a "Form link" instead:

You could set the order so they are on top of one another and set the labels to something similar:

My next suggestion would be to allow certain users to edit the Priority field directly.  Can they do that already?  What else do the UI Actions do?

Dear Jim,

Thanks for your kindly support and suggestions.

Actually, this is a business requirement and the end user want to change the buttons like the 'following' dropdown menu.

I have below questions:

1)Does the 'following' dropdown menu called 'native ui banner' or 'custom menu'(as far as I know it didn't called 'UI action')?I've use the keywords 'native ui banner' or 'custom menu' to find the solution, but till now didn't found the expected result.Could you please let me know which technical point used in the 'following' dropdown menu ?

2)How can I change the buttons styles like dropdown menus, can you give me some guides?

3)Is it very difficult to accomplish this dropdown menu?

Best regards,

Alvin

As others have said, that is not an object that we can use or add menu items to.  There are a few things in ServiceNow that are only accessible to them, and that is one of them.  Too bad, would be nice to be able to use something like that.

So, as far as the "business requirement" goes, maybe this might help - TNT: The Customer is NOT Always Right.  It's something I've been wanting to write for a while now, but your post finally pushed me to do it.  The "business requirement" should not state "we want a button like that", but it should say "the user should be able to change priority to 'Critical' or 'High' when in these Priorities".  Or something like that.

Sometimes things just can't or should not be done, but there's usually another way of doing it.  Like the Form link UI Actions I suggested earlier.  You could also display a popup window that the user would then click on the Priority.  But is that really worth it?

Thanks Jim,thanks for your time and detailed explanations.

Thanks a lot.

You are welcome.  I'm glad I was able to help you out.
