how to fetch the image of the catalog item?

I am creating one service catalog in which i am creating the one drop down when i select the item listed in the drop down i want the image of that item on the topmost of that catalog page..

What do you mean by fetch?   Not sure I am following your requirement. Images are stored in the sys_attachment table like any other file. You can find it by searching for table sys_id matching the sys_id of the catalog item. The type is also set to image.
