Hi Team,
I have one parent table and having another custom form/table as a related list in the parent table. But here I did not find any matching number/id which is common from both the tables and also the custom table(from the related list) is extending from the parent table. I have created a new field in child custom table to populate the parent table record number. Now I would like to populate a record number from parent table into a custom table when I click on New button from the related list.
Please help on this with the possibilities to achieve this. Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Rao

Hi Shloke,
Thank you for your guidance for this. When I checked for the two tables, I did not find any relationship between those 2 tables. Two are independent tables, Simply 2nd table is there in the related list from the 1st table. If there is a relationship, then we can follow your above solution for this, but here there is no field from the 1st table which is matching for the 2nd table.
Thanks,
Rao.

Hi,
There should be some Relationship between your Two Tables. If there is no Relationship defined then how are you adding your Second table as a Related list to the First Table?

As Gurpreet said, You need to add the related list and save it again. Earlier one was relationship(defined related list)
