Images on Survey Form

I need to decrease the size of the images we currently use on our Survey form so that it can fit the size of the user's screen irrespective of their personal settings.. The current size of the smileys icons used is too big. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

I decreased the size of my icons but the distance is too big, so that there is a line breake if I use 5 icons. How can I influence that?
