Hi team,
We are planning to uninstall the Software Asset Management Core plugin (com.snc.sam.core) across all our ServiceNow instances and would like to understand the potential impact before proceeding.
Specifically, we would like clarification on the following:
What happens to the Software Installation table (cmdb_sam_sw_install) after uninstalling SAM Core? Is the table removed, retained, or rendered inaccessible?
What happens to the existing records in this table? Are they preserved or deleted during the uninstall?
Does uninstalling SAM Core affect Discovery or other processes that populate software installation records? Will these processes switch to legacy tables such as cmdb_ci_spkg or cmdb_software_instance?
Are there any dependencies or known risks associated with uninstalling SAM Core across all instances, including production and sub-production?
Is there a ServiceNow-recommended procedure to ensure that existing data and dependent functionality are not impacted?
Any guidance based on practical experience or official ServiceNow documentation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
