I have read the articles here on the imperonation role. I am looking for a way to allow non-admin users to impersonate with minimal confiurations to the OOB settings and with no additional admin rule inheritance.

Hi there,
You can add the impersonator role and that's it. What is your question on that? Or concern that you have? Limitation that you would like to know? Please explain your question. Because adding the role is a few seconds task.
Kind regards,

Thank you. I am aware that the role addition takes a few seconds but wanted to dig into the role itself as in my organization there seemed to be some confusion. I am of the understanding that there are auditing capabilities and inability to impersonate admins. Are there any inherant autoritative risks or rights given to those who have impersonate role?
