I am trying to import assets into a table (System Import Sets>Load data). The Excel spreadsheet that I am trying to import comes from a template that has formulas in it to autofill data.
If these two things are true:
1) There only one item to import
2) There are any cells with a formula that evaluate to a blank (IF formula evaluates to "") AND those cells are formatted as a date
then the Service Now ImportProcessor throws an Error with "empty String".
This formula is in column J in the attached sheet "One-item Import.xlsx". The same exact formula is also in columns F,G and N-T, but those don't cause an issue because they are not date formatted. If I leave the formula in column J, but change the format to "General", then I can import one item. If I leave the column date formatted, but delete the formulas, then I can also import one item.
If I add one or more items to import to the sheet and change NOTHING else, then it doesn't throw an error - column J still has cells that evaluate to blank and are date formatted. I need to get this working as management wants users to use the Excel sheet as a template when adding assets, whether its only 1 item or 1,000.
See attached spreadsheets - all will work except "One-item Import.xlsx". The attached sheets have a custom date format, but Service Now will still throw an error on the "One-item Import.xlsx" if it's formatted as the default date format.
Here are print screens of the errors when trying to import from that sheet. I also tried to do this with "Create table", and it throws the same "empty String" error.
TIA

I see the issue has been resolved in Jakarta release. It still shows the 'empty String' message, but the import is successful. I see the issue in Helsinki and Istanbul.
Will check if there is any workaround for prior to Jakarta.
Thanks
