Hi ServiceNow Community Developers,
I have a question, in Dublin as a developer I had an admin role and I was able to export / import an xml file to any any instance (dev, test, prod, sandbox). The high security plugin was not enabled. I just joined a new company and they are in Eureka and have a high security plugin enabled. They have 5 instances sandbox (sandbox, dev, test, uat and prod). I noticed that in some instances I can elevate my security settings to the security admin role and that gives the ability to import an xml file. However in their uat and prod instances I am unable to see the 'Import xml' ui action from any list I go to which means that there is no way for me to import an xml file into these two instances. Also I am unable to elevate my privileges in these two instances, I just cannot see the padlock icon (next to the impersonator icon) which is the icon that allows me to elevate my privileges in the other instances. I am not sure if this is a Eureka feature or it was done by the implementation team for a reason but I was wondering how do I get around this? In other words what do I need to do in the instance in order to get the functionality to be able to do an xml upload as I will need this for things that do not go to update sets like data import and scheduled jobs. Please advise.
Thanks,
Johannes

Did you give yourself the role, then logout, then login, elevate your privileges, then see if you see the option?

Thanks Jason,
Giving myself the security_admin role, then logging out and logging back in did the trick. I now see the regular behavior I am used to.
Thanks,
Johannes

Hi Alex,
I was not aware that one can move an xml file this way too, I will definitely try it as it may be a much safer option than giving myself the security_admin role.
Thanks,
Johannes
