In service portal, there is a page called 'Ask a Question'. We have a catalog item by the name 'Ask a Question'. I want to populate the catalog item 'Ask a Question' in portal.Please help on how to achieve this?

In service portal, there is a page called 'Ask a Question'.On click of it, its opening a different widget. We have a catalog item by the name 'Ask a Question'. I want to populate the catalog item on click of the page 'Ask a Question' in portal.Please help on how to achieve this?

Go to Portals, open your portal record and find Main Menu. Open main menu used and edit it.

There you can change, replace, add link inside to point to your catalogue item.

Thats the only place URL is defined, if you have updated the URL there and replaced the widget, it would work fine.

Can you share you widget screenshot?

You can use icon link widget and pass the catalog item in Widget Instance

I agree with dvp that the Icon Link widget might be a good fit for your need.  You can learn about the Icon Link widget in the Introduction to Service Portal training module on the developer.servicenow.com site.

Depends where you have it and what is the purpose. You might need to hide it and put link to your item. 

It might be part of knowledge Q&A module so replacing is rather not good idea for that. ..

We dont need Ask a question in knowledge Q&A module as well
