Hi all,
My team has been working on monitoring performance of our instance in order to be able to proactively react in case there are some issues popping up. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this and knows any better ways to monitor the performance of the instance? And which indicators are most necessary?

I would check the articles written by @Mark Roethof related to instance health, instance check, etc. I think whey will be very useful.

Slow transactions, JVM size, ecma erros, script errors,scheduled jobs, customization in default update sets.
You can monitor performance before and after implementations, try to scale resources, optimize email processing etc.
