Hi All,
We have Clarity PPM. Our Incident, Change, Tasks, Asset, CMDB, Service Catalog (RITM/Task) etc... are in ServiceNow. Our Project Management team wants to bring the data from Incident/Change/Asset/CMDB/Service exchange data into their Clarity PPM. How much data they want to transfer today and in the future is not defined as yet. However, to do true "Project Management", a Project Manager needs to be able to see any incidents, changes, assets, CIs, requests related to the project in one centralized area.
The question is whether we should use Integration Hub or purchase the PPM standard? My thought process is that it would depend on the data size / automation needed / and frequency. However, I would like opinions from other SMEs. What factors would determine whether we use Integration Hub vs outright purchasing SPM?
**Important Note: So even though Integration Hub is low code, some development is required. We do not have in-house developers to do the development in the Integration Hub. We have an external partner that charges extremely high rates. For example: to add one field (with no functionality added to it), we are charge 8 hours billable rate.
So, leadership wants to know... In the long run is it more cost effective to purchase PPM or to integrate via Integration Hub.
Best,
Kathy

Hello,
This is a bit more of a question for your business to answer as far as "should we purchase SPM", you'd want to review this option with your SN Account Executive and see if:
- You can get briefed on the functionality and feature of the app
- You can get a demo
- If purchasing, how will it get implemented, etc.
- Review full cost and make decision
So, essentially, you all would need to conduct some application rationalization exercises for Clarity PPM and see what makes "business sense". If your organization's goal is to move to ServiceNow being the fully invested platform and "one stop shop", then you'd want to consider moving Clarity PPM to ServiceNow SPM/PPM instead.
Otherwise, yes, you'd need to review using Integration Hub. Do you all have a subscription already today to IH? If so, what level? If so, does IH even have a prebuilt spoke for Clarity? If not, then a custom solution may be needed and you could still use Flow Designer for it, but you could also do a custom scripted REST API. Does Clarity have an API available? Lots of questions along those lines.
In any case, you'd want to review how you all are using Clarity PPM today...are those project managers swivel chairing to SN to review the data they need? Would those stakeholders not want to just use one tool for everything? Does it make sense to even export out that information?
For the last thing you mentioned about the partner, you all aren't limited to just one partner? If you're not liking the rates or the estimations, bring it to their attention or consider getting a new partner?
Please consider marking my reply as Helpful and/or Accept Solution, if applicable. Thanks!
