In Rome and before I would change the color of the nav bar to quickly differentiate between my instances. Is there a way to do this in San Diego? It's not as natural to look at the url to see if it is dev, test, or prod compared to seeing the nav bar be a different color or having a completely different theme for each instance.

That makes it sounds like it isn't possible. I assumed this would be simple but if not I'll deal with it.

Here is an article authored by Ashley Snyder on how to edit Next UI Themes: https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_article&sys_id=a33fb397db590110e515c22305961...
As an alternative, I started using a browser-based environment marker. I usually can't control our customer's color schemes, and I wanted a quick visual way to see no matter how many tabs I had open.
There is one built into snutils that will add a dot to every browser tab for that instance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tm8-63yKmtY
I use Environment Marker for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/environment-marker/ You can choose the color, placement, and size of the banner as shown below.
