Is there a way to get a list field that has a reference specification to appear as a choice list?

I have a list field that has a reference specification. Is there a way for it to appear like a regular choice list?

So instead of appearing like this:

Hi @AM24 ,

If you want it to show it as choice list then you can add the choices in the Related List of List Type field  but if you have selected reference then it will not work.

Yeah, I was just checking if there was a way to get it to show up as a list even if it was chosen as a reference.
