I am looking for something to build during the knowledge 2017 hackthon. I have a few ideas rattling around:
1. an update set deployment automation tool, which I started working on last year and already have a significant amount of work into - https://community.servicenow.com/groups/servicenow-user-group-us-sc/blog/2016/07/14/update-set-deplo...
2. (new idea) a UI to allow the creation and management of materialized views in service now. I created a simple tool last week that cound be wired up to a SP page or UI page to create, copy data, schedule data load, and decomm full table structures - Re: Is there any way to copy an entire table with a new name but same fields?
Any developers interested in joining me on one of these projects during the conference?

I plan to be in and out of the K17 hackathon area Tuesday. I have classes to attend, and cannot spend all day in there, but i do plan to spend as much time as I can. I will be working on my update set auto-deployer code I linked to above. If anyone wants to join me on this project, all are welcome. The back-end code is pretty much worked out, and I was going to spend the time rebuilding the UI in service portal...
I have created the following slack group to communicate via:

K17 things i have learned:
#1 my update set auto deployer idea is dead. SN is introducing child - parent relationships with update sets in the next release (Jakarta?). Update set sequencing will no longer be necessary, and large groups of update sets can be grouped under a single parent update set. Bigly!!
#2 Service portal is getting some improvements in regards to catalog items. More to come on this front...but my understanding is that Jakarta will fix some issues with variable sets and containers in service portal.
