Line report to build a Year Vs Year comparison

Hi All,

I have been working recently over dashboards and performance analytics when I received a request from our customers. They were willing to see a year wise comparison of data present in our custom table where the Y-axis would represent the count of records, X-axis would represent months of the year i.e. Jan, Feb, Mar.... but not Jan,2017, Feb,2017.... and the multiple line graphs which would be built would specify the number records created in a specific month in a specific year.

I have been investigating the same for days now over community and other website for building custom charts or PA reports or multi-dataset report but no luck so far as the timeline over X-axis remains a continuous one i.e Nov, 2016; Dec, 2016; Jan, 2017; Feb, 2017......

Any help or ideas would be highly appreciated.

Were you able to find a solution to this? We have been asked to produce a similar year over year overlay-ed time series graph similar to what you are describing here.

I'm also interested in a solution for this. My requirement is exactly as shown in your attached picture. My graph needs to show the cumulative count of Sev1 incidents over the course of the year. Showing two datasets, this years count vs last years count. Any ideas?
