MID Server Generating 204 and 401 via Guest User

I am a Junior Systems Administrator supporting an environment that uses a few MID servers.  The ISSO has noticed that a couple of MID servers are generating numerous 401 errors via the Guest User account.  Another MID server is generating a 204 error via the Guest User account also.  I thought that the MID servers only use the "soap.guest" account.   I have visited many websites and have yet to land on a site that explains why the Guest User is involved with the MID server's communication back to the instance/ECC Queue or the handshake that would cause these two errors.  Does anyone have any idea as to where I should direct my troubleshooting efforts?

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Thank you very much for your suggestion, Harish!

You suggested troubleshooting steps are slowly revealing more information.  My team informed me that a Load Balancer is in place to solely manage the traffic to our MID servers.  At the moment, this Load Balance is my primary suspect!  Yet, I just do not understand why it would need to use a Guest User account.  I will resume troubleshooting and meticulously execute your suggestions!

Thanks again!
