Need to confirm correct answers for CSA Exam.

I have a deck of about 1,000 Q&As and flashcards to study for the CSA certification exam.

The questions have come from:

  • Official ServiceNow Sources
  • Books ($)
  • Udemy ($)
  • Quizlet

But as is often the case there is some bad or outdated information, in this case 23 items.

I am trying to figure out if I should give correct answers, or the incorrect answer that is generally accepted as correct.

ServiceNow Community - Please help me figure out the correct answers!

Examples:

Question answer category   Comments
(T/F) Roles are captured in an update set?
True/False
FALSE Application/Access Control   Issue: I often see this question marked incorrect. Most documentation in community says the answer to this question is false. Roles do get captured in the update sets. This is based on testing in my PDI. When creating a new Role or modifying a role.
(T/F) After someone publishes a report, they cannot unpublish it?
True/False
False Reporting   Issue: The answer requires admin rights, so someone is not specific enough for a correct question/answer. https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0728025 explains this in detail, but important to mention; none of this is Out of Box. The answer involves either adding Unpublish to Reporting form or running a script. So, more about sales involving customizations than how the platform actually works. Company now-a-days want ServiceNow OoB.

Hi @Lon Landry ,

Find your answers here:

1.  Roles are captured in an update set?
True/False  :  False

Explanation:

Any Data such as Users, Roles, Groups etc are not captured in update set so you need to Export them in XML and import in next instance using Import XML functionality. Hint - You can import the xml on any list ServiceNow is very smart to understand where it need to insert records

2. After someone publishes a report, they cannot unpublish it?
True/False : False

Explanation:

You should be able to un-publish it

1) go to individual report and then unpublish it

You cannot bulk un-publish the reports from script

Response from ServiceNow for un-publishing from script

How to unpublish a report using script?

Mark my answer correct & Helpful, if Applicable.

Thanks,
Sandeep
