when the approvals are created from WF in change, the approvals tab in CHG shows up as "not yet requeted" next to the approvers name instead of "requested". What could be the possible reason for this?

Are you sure that you don't have any onload client script or display business rule setting this on the form ?

Yes, the approval has been set to requested and state to approval. Inspite of that, it is saying 'not yet requested'

Hmm I donot see any BR or client script which is setting it to not yet requested!
