Now Assist for CMDB in Xanadu Release

Generative AI is all about doing things fast , facilitating and improving user experience in the platform .

We all know the power of Now Assist for ITSM , Now Assist is now available in the Xanadu Release for CMDB ,  and it bring three main features :

CI Summarization & Duplicate CIs management for CMDB users

And Now Assist for Service Graph Connectors

 

How to enable Now Assist for CMDB :

Go to the ServiceNow Store (https://store.servicenow.com/)

Click on Generative AI :

Click on Now Assist for Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

Please note that Now Assist for CMDB is compatible with Xanadu Patch 3 .

And that Now Assist apps are not enabled on PDIs at this time unfortunately .

Lets have a look on the two new features :

 

CI Summarization:

There a hall bunch of information in a CI record with different degrees of importance , CI summarization will shows important information about the CI .

This information includes also discovery , bellow an example of a summary :

Please note that the Summary will depend on applications , plugins enabled in the platform & of course end user’s access permissions .

 

Duplicate CIs management

IRE is the very powerful capability of ServiceNow to avoid duplicates .

When IRE identifies duplicates , it creates a de-duplication task that needs to be reviewed and remediated by the CMDB Manager .

With the new feature a CMDB manager can :

Guide the CMDB Manager to review the de-duplication tasks , and propose next steps .

Analyze the de-duplication tasks and identify the root cause .
