OOB Category and Sub Category driven logic on CMDB tables

Hello Team,

I am aware that the Category adn Sub Category are driven by entries avaialble on choice table as per hte Child and not as Parent. Need supporting documents for the same. Even if my understanding is wrong, somebody please enlighten

Hi, Category and SubCategory are attributes derived from cmdb_ci class, their values are not driven (at least how I see it) by choice table; default value for Category is set using dynamic filter "Get CMDB Item Category" that calculates the value of this field when a CI is created, but for SubCategory - no values set at all.

I would suggest using CI Class Manager tool to check CI classes and their attributes.

The question here is to identify why the Router and Switch have different category and sub category when both are child of Network Adapter class.
