PDI Stuck in Unscheduled Maintenance for 22 Days - manohar.shashank3095@gmail.com

Hello ServiceNow Community Team,

I am raising this issue regarding my Personal Developer Instance (PDI), which has been hard-locked in "Unscheduled Maintenance" for exactly 22 days now.

- Associated Profile Email: manohar.shashank3095@gmail.com
- Current Status: "Developer Instance is undergoing unscheduled maintenance."
- Duration: 22 Days (More than 3 weeks)

Over the past few weeks, I built multiple custom Service Catalog items, wrote numerous Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Business Rules, and practiced extensively building various records. All of this data is currently trapped and inaccessible.

Furthermore, I tried using an alternative account to see if I could spin up a fresh temporary PDI to continue practicing, but those family releases (including Yokohama and Zurich) are completely blocked on a waitlist.

Could an administrator or developer program manager please check the backend tracking for manohar.shashank3095@gmail.com? I either need this PDI revived so I can export my update sets, or my profile fully reset so I can request a working instance.

Thank you for your urgent help,
Manohar Shashank Vanaparthi

Hi @manoharshav

  1. There is no support available for PDI.
  2. You can release this instance and start a new one, but you will lose your previous data. To avoid losing update sets in the future, make sure to take regular backups of your PDI.

Don't worry; this is quite common these days.

Over the last few days, I have seen many community members experiencing delays when requesting a PDI. In some cases, the waiting time has been 6–7 days, even for lower ServiceNow versions.

You can try requesting a lower-version instance, such as Zurich or earlier, and then upgrade it to the latest release. The upgrade process typically takes around 3–4 hours.

For now, patience is the key, as PDI availability depends on overall demand and infrastructure capacity.

ahoy @manoharshav,

I wrote more about PDI states and undergoing maintenance here: [GF#5] PDI in Offline state: Resolving Error 502 Bad Gateway (snow_adc)

There's not much to do, but the article explains one possibility to save your data.

Hello @manoharshav ,

Since ServiceNow PDIs do not have dedicated support, you can  request a new instance. However, if you request a new instance, all data from the previous instance will be lost.

Also, keep this in mind: always take regular backups of your work using Update Sets. This helps you recover your customizations and development work in situations like these.

If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution.

Regards,
Aditya

Hi @manoharshav

If your  your Servicenow Developer PDI  has been stuck in a "launching," "waking up","500 error"  or not getting online state for more than 24-48 hours, then  I will  advice you  to release the instance and request a new one .

In your case, you have already waited for 22 days!

As you know there is no support available for PDI.

Please Accept the solution if it assisted you with your question & Mark this response as Helpful.
