Performance testing

Hi all, I am looking for a community view on performance testing.

 

We are talking hundreds of agents on the phones / workspaces, thousands of cases a day, API calls out to and in from tens of external systems and scheduled jobs executing out of business hours.

 

What have community members put in place to prove that ServiceNow will be able to cope with anticipated volumes of user sessions / transactions / data volumes?

 

One consideration I can think of is that non-production instances are not scalable, so won't size themselves to adapt to traffic volumes in the same way a production instance would e.g. by provisioning more nodes or increasing DB size. Does this mean a prod instance must be used and does that come with any risks e.g. data cleardown before go-live?

 

We are seeking a view from ServiceNow separately as well, this is specifically asking the community if anyone has done this in the wild and any gotchas / advice you could provide.
