Please could someone help me with a few plugins on my instance which is @ ServiceNow . Plugin name is "Planned Task"                 com.snc.planned_task                 Provides additional fields for tasks pertaining to time and effort as part of a planned, multi-stage process.   I checked with the list mentioned here http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=List_of_Plugins#gsc.tab=0 and it is not mentioned as "By Request" anywhere. Also, kindly request someone to share the softcopy of the ebook which is mentioned here: http://www.amazon.in/ServiceNow-Operations-Management-Ajay-Guggilla/dp/1785889087?tag=googinhydr1841....

Hello Nandan,

If you are experiencing the issue with a DEV instance, then go to developers.servicenow.com and navigate to Manage > Instance > Action > Activate Plugin > Planned Task_v2 > Active.

If you are having the issue with a production ServiceNow Platform -> then you need to contact your ServiceNow Account Representative.

Dear Mr. Georgi Mavrodiev,

Please find the "Activate plugin" option being grayed out as I am using the personal development instance. I would like to know if this service is on a payment basis.

Hello Nandan,

The DEV (developer) instances of ServiceNow are free.
I believe your instance is currently not up and running or in other words: it's hibernated / sleepy.
Please wake it up till its status is green (up and running and then try again).
If the situation is the same, then I would advice you to write into here:
Instance Help

This way, you will notify the ServiceNow team which looks after the DEV instances for the fact that there is a problem with yours.

Hello Nandan,

I am glad to hear that you managed to download a PDF of the document!

In regards to the issue with your DEV instance - please wait for a while.
Once the instance is awaken, you will be notified.
If no notification arrives in the next let's say 30 minutes - then simply log into the developers.servicenow.com and check the status.
If the instance is up and running, you will see green color and you will be able to use the option "Activate a Plugin" as in the below screenshot:

I checked it again and saw some documentation done on the same here "Deactivated Recalculate business rule for Planned Tasks in Istanbul " but was very confusing.

After referring to this documentation (Planned task), I found that "It gets activated when activating the Project Management plugin (through Project Portfolio Suite with Financials plugin)."

                So, I followed these steps

  • I went and clicked on "Action" button on my developer instance and choose "Planned Task_v2"   in the "Available Plugins"   list and clicked on the "ACTIVATE" button.

I received a "Success!" message after the installation was complete.

  • I went back to my instance ServiceNow   to Business rules > searched for "Planned Task" and it was available but "Planned Task_v2" was not available.
  • In my instance, I installed "Financial Management" plugin by selecting "System Definition" > "Plugins" and in the "Name" I mentioned "Financial Management".
  • Once the installation was completed successfully.
  • I went back to my instance enabled "Package" option on the filter in Business rules > searched for "Planned Task_v2" and it was installed.

  • I still wonder how we can deactivate and uninstall the "Packages Call Removal Tool" it self :-). I even tried choosing the "Elevate Roles" option but it did not work. All help in achieving it would work here.
