                  Please could someone help me with a few plugins on my instance which is @ ServiceNow . Plugin name is "Planned Task"                 com.snc.planned_task                 Provides additional fields for tasks pertaining to time and effort as part of a planned, multi-stage process.   I checked with the list mentioned here http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=List_of_Plugins#gsc.tab=0 and it is not mentioned as "By Request" anywhere. Also, kindly request someone to share the softcopy of the ebook which is mentioned here: http://www.amazon.in/ServiceNow-Operations-Management-Ajay-Guggilla/dp/1785889087?tag=googinhydr1841....

Hello Nandan,

If you are experiencing the issue with a DEV instance, then go to developers.servicenow.com and navigate to Manage > Instance > Action > Activate Plugin > Planned Task_v2 > Active.

If you are having the issue with a production ServiceNow Platform -> then you need to contact your ServiceNow Account Representative.

                  This is a default plugin "Planned Task" which comes by default and is available in the Business rules when searched for "Recalculate"   in the Name column. Reference document of which is mentioned here. Plugins missing in my instance

Good Morning Nandan,

Well done, documenting you actions and investigation. I like it!

In regards to the uninstall   of a plugin - I may say that usually when a plugin is activated it cannot be deactivated.
Yet, some of the plugins can be disabled.

I will give you an example with the following two SSO features of ServiceNow:
- if you active SSO (Single Sign - On) Plug in or Multi-Provider SSO Plugin -> you cannot uninstall these plugins.
Yet, if you go to their Properties module in the application navigator -> you can disable them:
- disabling SSO - navigate to System Properties > Single Sign-on > un - select (check) the checkbox called "Enable external authentication";
- disabling Multi-Provider SSO - navigate to Multi-Provider SSO > Administration > Properties > un - select the checkbox of "Enable multiple provider SSO";

So, in your specific situation, I would search for such option in the module of the Plugin which you are looking to uninstall / disable.
If there is a checkbox for enabling -> I would un - check it.

Good afternoon,

                    Thank you for the appreciation Mr. Georgi Mavrodiev. I did this "Going to the Application menus > search Financial Application and Do the Active false.."

find_real_file.png

                    Then I selected the with the name as "planned task global events" unchecked "Active".

find_real_file.png

                  Searched for "Recalculate" and unchecked it. This is a tedious task. Please let me know if there is an easier way of doing it.

Hello Nandan,

I do not believe there is another way via which you can do what you've done and described above.
By visiting the Application Menu and switching off the Financial Planning - you've actually made in not available, to say so to users in your system (ServiceNow instance).
By switching off the pointed Business Rule - you've actually disable its function.

To me, what you've done is a workaround which will cover your requirements.

Yet, I believe if you want to simply "shake off" of the Business Rule that comes with the activation of the Plugin -> then the better option will be to turn the BR of.
I personally would not deactivate the Application menu (its modules) if the whole Plugin.

What has happened here is an example why we require to always get familiar (read all official documentation in ServiceNow Wiki(Creating Custom Applications - ServiceNow Wiki ) and ServiceNow Docs(Product Documentation | ServiceNow )) about a Plugin before activating it. As I said: once activated - a Plugin cannot be uninstalled. Well, in Istanbul Release of ServiceNow, there might be some uninstall options for specific Plugins, or at least I read this somewhere. Yet, most of the Plugins cannot be uninstall.
