We are considering adding Support group and Application group tags to the description field in windows and linux Server Ci ‘s configuration. The purpose of this is when we run discovery on a Server Ci class using the ServiceNow Discovery tool or any other discovery tool after the discovery job completion, we will execute a script on the discovered server Ci’s and populate the Support group and Application group fields in the ServiceNow CMDB. Question does anyone use a different approach to automating populating Support groups in the CMDB to ensure accuracy. Please advise. Thank you.
