Hello all, good day!
I am setting up my org service catalog,
in one of the item, user need to provide some data using as excel template whenever they submit the request.
Is that possible, If I attached the excel template in the item via maintain item, so that user can get the template from the item and enter data required ?
How can I do this ?
or there are better way to manage this ?
Please feel free to share , I am new to SNOW, learning SNOW at the moment.
Thank you so much.

Hi,
In the descriptions field on the catalog item (i.e. maintain items), you can link to your KB article that can have this attachment in it. This is useful in several ways because:
1) You have a KB article explaining the need for this file
2) It's not physically housed in the catalog item itself
If you click the paperclip in "maintain items" and try to attach there...that doesn't actually do anything on the end-user view of the form...which is why I'm suggesting the above method.
So just create a new KB Article. You could explain a bit more about the form (use cases, etc) and that way if a user searches for help, they can also find the form...and then in the kb article choose display attachment link, view the article, copy the link, go to your maintain items and the respective item, in the description box click the "link" icon there, add link, and voila.
