Early Release of Vancouver came out on August 03, 2023.
Some of us have successfully upgraded to the Vancouver release and are experimenting with the new features.
I have put together the steps that will guide you on how to upgrade your PDIs. Enjoy!
Log on to your ServiceNow account
https://signon.service-now.com/sso
On the Home screen, click on the Developer Program that will open up in a new tab on your browser
Click on "Start Building" to launch your PDI
Once PDI is launched, go to previous tab where you have the below open:
https://developer.servicenow.com/dev.do#!/home
Click on your account icon on the top right corner
Scroll down on "Your instance actions", and select "Upgrade instance"
Click on the "Upgrade to latest/Vancouver 0" and the "Upgrade" button will become active
Click on the "Active" button and the process will start with a message "Instance upgrade is in progress"
It may take up to 1-3 hrs. Now you can go and do something else 🙂
Once upgrade is complete, you can verify. Once you are in your PDI:
- Type "stats" in search under "All"
- Select Stats > Stats
- Look at the Build Name
- It should say Vancouver (if the instance is on this release)
Please mark this article as helpful so others can know about using it in case they are stuck in accessing the Vancouver upgrade on their PDIs.

I clicked to upgrade my PDI from Utah to Vancouver 48 hours ago.....now my PDI is unreachable.
After starting the upgrade, my PDI was unavailable for a couple of hours.
Then, it was available for use for the next 24 hours, but the developer site continued to say "Upgrade in progress".
Now, 48 hours later, my developer site landing page still says "Instance upgrade is in progress", and if I try to access the PDI, I get a page that says "Your instance is hibernating. Sign in to the site to wake your instance." Clicking on the "Sign in" button just takes me back to the developer.servicenow.com homepage.
Trying to directly open a URL to my PDI also results in the "hibernating" screen.
Anyone else having these issues?
I'm using this PDI for training. If there isn't any fix for this problem, I'll release my instance this afternoon and request a new one. I've been using this PDI for several months, it'll be a shame to lose the plugins I've installed and data I've generated.

Update:
After initiating my PDI upgrade to Vancouver (patch 0), my PDI was unreachable for at least 5 days.
It was still unreachable on Friday, 5 days after the upgrade request.
I was out of town all weekend and today...Monday, one week after the request...I can reach my upgraded PDI.
Stats show it is correctly upgraded to Vancouver Patch 0.
The All -> System Diagnostics -> Upgrade Log shows that the upgrade itself completed in under 90 minutes.
So the problem...for me, anyway....was that my PDI simply wouldn't "un-hibernate" for about a week.
It's all a bit frustrating, but all is well now.
