Quick messages for multiple groups?

Currently there are some quick messages that several groups need to use. Is there a way, other than recreating the messages for each group to allow all the groups to see and use them? In the system it looks like you can only assign one group as this field is a reference. I have looked in to changing the field to multiple choices but it doesn't look like I can.

We have configure quick messages for our application which has condition to match category of catalog item and assignment group of task on sc_task table.

But if the user is part of other applications and other groups are added to that user then quick messages are not visible for them. Can anyone pls assist.

I would be wary of changing the 'type' of an OOTB dictionary entry.

Better practice would be to replace it with a custom field.
