"Hide on Service Portal" is defaulted set to False in Catalog Item from upgrade activity Kingston to Madrid

Hi All,

I have a question regarding the attribute in the Catalog Item. We have the "Hide on Service Portal" attribute in the catalog item table which we realize that it is set as "false" for all of the catalog item. We believe that this might be due to our upgrade activity from Kingston to Madrid.

Previously, this was set to True in the previous version. We don't want to show this catalog in the Service Portal.

Also, we cannot edit the value from the list view and there it is not available in the form view as well.

Can you guys please advise, is this happens due to the upgrade activity which the value is set to False? and how to change the value without going to the background script?

Below is the screenshot of the sample catalog item:

It's visibility is likely controlled by a UI Policy.  Have you looked there to see if you can either A) change the view to see it. B) Disable the ui policy/client script that is hiding it.

Have you reached out to HI about this?

a) Changing the views did not change anything on the permission to edit

b) There is no UI policies/client script applied to the List.

I haven't reach HI for this as I think this should be came from customized configuration. Will try to contact them for further assistance.

Hi there,

On our customer instance and on my PDI the list edit does work. You might have to check your ACL's. Maybe something has been changed in regards to out-of-the-box?

Also on our customer instance and on my PDI the "Hide on Service Portal" field is not on the form lay-out. Obviously, you could add it. Also tested, the functionality does still work, so if you would make it true for a particular catalog item, it's not shown on the Service Portal anymore.

Looking at the default value, also that is false here. Both on PDI and customer instance. You could change the default value thru the Dictionary Entry for "Hide on Service Portal".

To check if it was changed due to upgrade: just check if the dictionary entry has been updated.

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.

Kind regards,
Mark

I couldn't find any ACL limiting the List view for this table. Also, I found out that not only the field is not editable, it is for all.
