reassigning an approval record once it is generated?
Scenario: catalog item when we submit we select BPX approval, once the request is waiting for approval that time it should give the user (*specific one) to change the approver.
we need Approver field editable or reference field , some times we will change approvers,Please find below screenshots. Please Provide with examples and Thanks.

Trying to manage individual approvers dynamically via workflow is prohibitively difficult.
That's why I usually have a GROUP of people authorized to approve. If anyone in that group approves, then object is approved.
Don't think of requests as "*ONLY* John Doe can approve (unless I spontaneously change my mind and then ONLY Jane Doe can approve). " No business actually runs this way in reality.

You cannot directly change the approvers name from the list view.
But try using edit button to add/remove approvers. That being said, Robert is more straight to the point and following group approval approach is the best
Please mark my response as correct and helpful if it helped solved your question.

I know this is late but yes. You can reassign at least service request approvals. I have not been able to do this with the change requests.
DO NOT remove the current approver or modify the record until after adding the replacement.
Click the edit button.
Select and add the new person who should be the new approver.
On the new approver record, change the state from Not Yet Requested to Requested
Once that is done the new approver should get the approval email.
Then on the old approver, change the state from Requested to No Longer Required.
That will cancel out the old requested approval.
And that should be it.
If you cancel or remove the previous approval the workflow will skip that step and move on in the workflow. So you have to add a new approver before modifying. I also never remove the old approval record and use that to document what I did and why in the notes.
As stated before I was not able to get this to work for change requests.

Did you try this on a service request using Flow Designer or Workflow? This does not work with Flow Designer.
