Dear All,
Could you please help me to understand the uses of three different sections (Conditions, Group By, and Assignment) of the Remediation Task Rules in simple language? I referred ServiceNow Docs and I am a bit confused and would greatly appreciate your explanation on what are the uses of three different section. Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi @Ratan B ,

1)Conditions:You set specific criteria or rules that an incident must meet to trigger the creation of a task.

Example: You can create a condition like "If the incident's priority is 'High' and it's in the 'Software' category, then create a remediation task."

2)Group By:It allows you to group incidents together based on common  issues.

  • Example: If you have 5 incidents all reporting the same server issue, Group By can create a single task to handle all those incidents as one, so your team doesn't have to work on each incident separately.
  • 3)Assignment: It assigns the task to a specific person, team, or group based on your rules.
    • Example: You can set up Assignment to say, "Assign the task to the IT Support team" or "Assign it to the person who reported the incident."

Please mark it as Solution Proposed and Helpful if it works for you

Thanks,

Anand
