Remote Applications opening SN forms and pre-populating data

Hi,

We have a request to have external applications which experience errors automatically open a form within our portal and pre-populate error data but allow the user to complete the remaining identifying information in the form prior to submission. 

Has anyone set something like this up before and what would it entail?  Integrations? Security?
