We have just started to add articles in our KB and with that we have created categories. We have the following structure:
ServiceNow > Development
What I'm looking for is so that all articles in Development category only can be read by users in admin role.
How can this be done?
We are using Helsinki

Hello!
Unfortunately you can not use User Criteria on Categories for a Knowledge Base in Madrid or any earlier version. What you have to do is to create a separate Knowledge Base and add User Criteria to that one so that only Admin (or who you want in your case) to see the content.

User criteria is the best (and the direction SericeNow is taking) way to "secure" your knowledge. The point is that for the moment, it can only be used (as my knowledge) to either secure an entire knowledge base or specific article, but not per category.
One option could be to create a business rules that will set the user criteria on the article when the category is set the development one.
However, i would rather use a separate Knowledge base for admin.
My 50 cents 🙂

Hi Marc and thanks for your input to my question!
I read the link before posting my question and couldn't really find anything on google regarding my question and that usually means that there's not a way...
Implementing roles on categories would be quite useful but for now I guess we can keep our fingers crossed for Jakarta.
Thanks!
