SolarWinds Alert Integration: Orion Alerts and ServiceNow Incident Management module

Automatically open new ServiceNow tickets based on critical events defined by your Orion Platform.
This integration is free of charge; it is developed and maintained by SolarWinds Orion Platform team using ServiceNow Web Services and Orion Platform Alert triggers.
Supported ServiceNow versions: Paris, Orlando, Madrid, New Your
Supported Orion Platform versions: Orion Platform 2016.1 and later

SolarWinds for ITOM Health: Orion Events and ServiceNow Event Management module

This integration provides rich workflows for monitoring related events, such as Asset, Change, Problem, and Incident management workflows.
It is free of charge and available even when customers do not purchase the ServiceNow Incident Management module because it is considered to be an Add-On.
This integration is developed and maintained by the ServiceNow dev team using MID (distributed) Server to query Orion SDK (batch SWQL query for events).
Provided as a default connector "IN PRODUCT" and part of the base NOW Platform
Supported ServiceNow versions: Madrid and later (including Orlando, Paris)
Supported Orion Platform versions: Orion Platform 2016.1 and later

Service Graph Connector for SolarWinds: Orion Inventory and ServiceNow Service Graph (CMDB)

  • Automatically populate the Service Graph and CMDB with inventory discovered by SolarWinds Orion products, including network devices, server systems and public cloud instances. This augments the information populated in CMDB by ServiceNow.
  • Schedule synchronization and reconciliation of asset data with Service Graph and CMDB including system hardware components, network interfaces, operating system details, installed software, cloud instance info and more.
  • Build associations and stack relationships based on the discovered environment for faster root-cause and impact analysis of outages.


This integration is developed and maintained by ServiceNow using MID Server to query Orion SDK (batch SWQL query for asset inventory).

You can download it as a Service Graph Connector Program add-on from the ServiceNow store.

The ServiceNow environment needs to connect to the Orion side externally using 17774 port. If you host the Orion environment in Amazon or Azure, you need to allow the 17774 port to be accessed externally. You may need a external IP redirecting it to the Orion internal IP.

Note: Installing the connector for SolarWinds is free but requires a subscription to a Subscription Unit-based IT Operations Management (ITOM) Visibility or ITOM Discovery application. Managed IT Resources created or modified in the CMDB by this Service Graph Connector, but not yet managed by ITOM Visibility or ITOM Discovery, will increase Subscription Unit consumption within that application.
