Hello Developer,

 

I want to understand the setting up alerts based on license usage vs license availability.

 

Background:

Team needs to monitor license usage more effectively to prevent license violations and ensure proper allocation. They also want to prevent the misuse of licenses assigned to other departments or branches.

 

Description:

Investigate whether ServiceNow can generate an alert when license usage exceeds a predefined threshold

 

My Assumption and Possibilities:

[Option1]
Display an alert message at the top of the Classic UI when a specific Subscription Management record is accessed.
[Option2]
Use the Notification feature to automatically send an email alert to administrators when the threshold is exceeded.
[Option3]
Use Flow Designer to trigger an automated task or workflow when license usage surpasses 80%.
 
Need your help to understand below points:
1. If ServiceNow has function without development activity?
     E.g. Enable system properties, OOTB configuration
2. In the case of development is necessary, what option we can use?
     E.g.
          - System Alert
          - Notification
          - Flow Designer (Scripting)
          - (Dashboard)
3. If we have option to implement this solution, what is the prerequisite or necessary data?
E.g.
     - To understand the number of licenses as per the group/department data, we need to configure something in          subscription management?
